How to take your measurements for a Tempo shelter
Before choosing a Tempo shelter, it's essential to take accurate measurements to ensure a perfect fit for your property and your vehicle. For a comfortable fit, we recommend adding at least 60 cm (2 feet) of clearance on each side of your vehicle to allow for easy door opening and space to move around.
1. Measure the installation area
Be sure to take all measurements in feet and inches:
- Entrance Width: Measure the total width of the area where the shelter will be installed.
- Entrance Length: Measure the depth of the available space.
- Vehicle Height: Measure the height of your vehicle, including accessories such as a roof box or ski rack. Add extra clearance to avoid any contact with the shelter fabric.
2. Consider your property
- Respect property boundaries: Make sure the shelter does not extend onto neighboring property or public roads.
- Avoid obstacles: Look out for branches, power lines, or sloped terrain that could interfere with installation
3. Check municipal regulations
Each municipality may have its own rules regarding:
- The installation period
- Minimum setback distances
- Allowed shelter height or design
Check with your local municipality before proceeding.
4. Take a photo of the installation area
Take at least one clear photo of the space where the shelter will be installed. This helps us better understand your situation.
